The Canonical Hour of Terce may be sung before Mass.

Asperges

(On Sundays outside Eastertide)

Before the principal Sung Mass on Sundays, the Priest sprinkles the congregation with Holy Water as a reminder of Baptism.

(Stand)

Antiphon: Thou shalt purge me * with hyssop, O Lord, and I shall be clean: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Verse: Have mercy upon me, O God, after thy great goodness; * according to the multitude of thy mercies, do away mine offences.

On Passion and Palm Sundays the Glory Be is omitted.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost: As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

V. O Lord, show thy mercy upon us.
R. And grant us thy salvation.

V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
R. And let my cry come unto thee.

V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with thy spirit.

Priest: Let us pray.

GRACIOUSLY hear us, O Lord, holy Father, almighty, everlasting God: and send down thy holy Angel from heaven to guard, cherish, protect, visit, and defend all who dwell in this habitation: through Christ our Lord.

R. Amen.

(On Sundays from Easter to Pentecost)

(Stand)

Antiphon: I saw water * proceeding out of the temple, from the right side thereof, alleluia; and all men, whithersoever the waters shall come, shall be healed and shall say, alleluia, alleluia.

Verse: O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is gracious, * because his mercy endureth forever.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost: As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
